We just received a Don Hatfield serigraph "On the Beach" as a donation to our silent auction! How thrilling! The money raised will go to support our mission of making Lake Michigan and the sport of sailing available through quality programming. We work to make this possible for anyone regardless of age, physical ability of financial concern. In 2018 we will be hosting the U.S. Sailing's National Disabled Sailing Championships again and we continue to offer free boat rides to the disabled on Fridays throughout the summer. We offer a great array of programs including a STEM program (I know, you'd want that to be STEAM) in Milwaukee area middle schools. The program looks at the science and engineering behind sailing and culminates in the hands on application of those principles with the kids coming to our center for a day on the water in sailboats. We also teach anyone who wants to learn how to sail. We've had members that are over 100 years old! We are so pleased to be able to offer our guests this beautiful piece at our event and thought you would like to know the good work your art is making possible. If you're ever in the Milwaukee area, stop by, If it's during our summer sailing season, we'll take you out for a sailboat ride!
Sincerely,
Karen Hunt Executive Director Milwaukee Community Sailing Center 1450 N. Lincoln Memorial Drive Milwaukee, WI 53202 (414)277-9094 karen@sailingcenter.org
