COCO CHANEL BY DON HATFIELD

''SLEEPING WITH THE ENEMY'

I read the book and was fairly disturbed by what I read, and the, behold, I was asked by a friend to do a portrait of  Coco in exchange for an electric piano for my kids--so--what the heck!
An old flat photo was my reference, but I added the cigarette smoke and the torso--I think it works.

  1. Hi Don, lovely portrait of Coco. How great to get a piano for the children. I started teaching myself to play an old upright I bought at an auction about two months ago and am progressing rather nicely for an old gal. It's great fun to learn to play especially when you choose a song you love to learn. I chose "Hallelujah" by Leonard Cohen and can play it through nicely.

Playing can be so fulfilling. Always make it fun for them and give them a choice of music and I bet they will enjoy it. Has one of them shown an interest in piano?

    Have a safe summer!

  2. Great portrait Don. But an electric piano for 3 little kids....uh...sounds like torture. Buy some good earplugs.
