ALL PROCEEDS GO DIRECTLY TO RACHEL'S CHILDREN'S FUND WHERE THEY WILL BE USED TO COVER EDUCATION COSTS:
Eva (2nd grade), Ariel (kindergarten), and Alex (pre-school) are all attending the prestigious St. John's Lutheran School in Napa, CA. The cost is considerable, but they are loved and supported there beyond measure. I have full time paid assistance at home and the kids are prospering. They are experiencing the full range of kid culture here in Napa minus their natural parents. I am completely embedded in their lives, and I love it! I want to provide them with every benefit I can.

GRAND FATHER'S LOVE AND SORROW Here is the video that the Sacramento Bee did in seeking the Pulitzer Prize for Renee Byer's photo-journalistic work on Rachel's children and Grandpa's love.
Don, we just watched the 48 hours episode honoring you, your daughter, and your beautiful grandchildren! It was extremely difficult to watch--especially from looking at your pictures until the episode, I can see that you are in a taxing position, but one that in the years to come you and your grandchildren will relish. You are a great man, and I know that your daughter is very close and appreciates all that you do for her beautiful children! We are heartbroken for you and wish you the best! My partner is a young developing artist – – I say young, but she is age 55, but just beginning her ventures in art. We are so impressed with your beautiful beautiful work, and I feel certain will attempt to purchase a print, as an original is likely way out of our price range. Your impressionistic art is just fabulous, and we love it. I happen to know several really awesome writers and hope one day to write my own book--thus, I do hope that your story will be told. Surely someone is stepping up to the plate to offer you such a deal – – if not let me know! God bless you and the children!
ReplyDeleteDon, After watching your story on 48 hours about your daughter and grandchildren. I came away with many thoughts and was also moved beyond words. I will try to put these thoughts into words. First of all, I cannot imagine how difficult your loss is but I can see you are a courageous and honorable man by actions. I also see how precious your grandchildren are to you even though life may be difficult at times. This will give you many precious memories to mingle with rest of the fond thoughts of your daughter in the time to come.
ReplyDeleteI saw your name on the TV show and before they could say you were an artist I knew who you were. I had actually viewed your art over time, being an artist myself. I am always looking up to those who are better than I...and you are in many ways. Tragedy of a sort has entered my life also and I find it difficult to paint all the time. You have shown me that my smaller strife is nothing compared to yours. I have learned valuable lessons from you not only in art ....but in life.
Thank you and continued success with your grandchildren and your beautiful art work.
Hi, Don,
ReplyDeleteJust watched the show, and I wanted to find you online and reach out somehow. Your grandchildren are beautiful and you are a wonderful man to take on such a huge job.
Your paintings of her that were shown on the program are just stunning. God bless you and the rest of your family.
Sending you much love and peace.
Really Nice
